alt-J returns to Singapore for the third time

If you were bummed out that you wouldn’t be able to catch Mercury award-winning British indie outfit alt-J at the inaugural Bali edition of Bestival, fret not. Just as we suspected, they’ll be dropping by Singapore on Nov 29 for a one-night performance at the Esplanade Theatre, before going for their five-state Australian tour.

The trio aren’t strangers to our fair island—they made their debut at the 2013 Laneway Festival Singapore to a rough start (they had to restart “Intro” because of some technical difficulties), and then returned for a headlining gig at The Coliseum two years ago. Their popularity is credited to their impeccable unique blend of electronic bleeps and bloops, indie rock and folk-style songwriting, which has remained consistent throughout their discography. Expect nothing but a splendid show, especially now that they have three albums under their belt. Their third and most recent studio album, Relaxer, was released last June to raving reviews, and earned them a spot in this year’s Mercury Prize shortlist.

Tickets are priced from $88-148, and will be available via Apac Tix from Sep 22, 10am.
