Be a part of the tea revolution with Singapore’s first ever tea festival

With a bevy of brands insisting on a renaissance of tea-drinking and tea culture, one can’t help but ask: When did tea ever go out of style? We would like to think the softer, more subtle sister to coffee always had a place in Singaporeans’ hearts—whether as a brazen devotion to bubble tea or as a fondness for a calming cuppa in the evening.

But perhaps the supposed “revival of tea” is for the best; what else would bring us the Singapore Tea Festival 2017, the first ever tea festival on the island? Organized by local heritage tea retailer The 1872 Clipper Tea Co. in conjunction with the Singapore Food Festival, the event is bringing together 17 homegrown tea and lifestyle brands to educate consumers on the art of tea-drinking—while delivering some pretty damn good tea.

There’s something for tea enthusiasts and amateurs alike, from craft workshops and talks (think floral arrangements in tea ware) to a historical showcase of Singapore Tea, to a good ol’ Tea Market—a curated line-up of tea brands and craft makers for the tea-curious to get their feet wet. And bound to be a hot favorite with trend-chasing millennials is Teapitiam, a pop-up café serving tea, tea-inspired snacks, and tea bites from local F&B favourites like Bird Bird and One Kueh At A Time.

If this sounds like your cup of tea, be sure to hang around town this weekend.

The Singapore Tea Festival 2017 will take place on Jul 22-23, 10am-10pm, at B4 ION Orchard. Head here for more information.
