Cycle along some of Singapore’s most scenic routes this October

From Oct 1-2, the OCBC Cycle 2016 will be back for its second edition with four main race categories and more exciting pre-events.

If you’re looking for a challenge, grab four friends and race against 14 other teams for the OCBC Cycle Speedway Club Championship ($260 per team of five) on Oct 1. Leisure and novice cyclists can choose from the two non-competitive races on Oct 2. The 21km Straits Times Ride (from $99) lets you enjoy the scenic view of the city around the CBD and Marina Bay Sands while the 42km Sportive Ride (from $59) kicks off from the Sports Hub and brings you to Harbourfront and East Coast Park before returning to the starting point. There’s also the M Savers Family and Kids Rides (from $74 for 1 adult and 1 child), for those who want a little family bonding sesh.

Some upcoming pre-events include the second Cafe Bike Crawl on Aug 13 and three Volvo Route Familiarization Trips in September, which lets you trace the routes of The Sportive Ride in a chauffeured Volvo. While entry to these two are now sold out, you can still head down for the OCBC Cycle Carnival 2016 at NUH Sports Centre from Jul 22-23 for some cycling-related tips such as injury prevention and the ideal nutritional intake.

Registration for the races are ongoing. More information here.
