Doesn’t matter even if you have no idea what Cinco de Mayo is, all you need to know is that it involves lots of partying (with plenty of margaritas) and these are the five you should know about.
Guzman Y Gomez
This one’s less of a party and more of a full on feast. The casual burrito joint does $5 burritos and $5 Coronas on May 5. You also have a choice to do burrito bowls if you’re not feeling the wraps.
Hombre Cantina
Boat Quay’s staple Mexican restaurant has an all-day affair starting with family-friendly face painting sessions before turning into a full-on drinking fiesta with a live band and drink promos all night long. Don’t forget to dress up.
Lucha Loco
Of course this raucous Mexican restaurant would be one of the first places to jump on a party. With its breezy alfresco deck and party-friendly interiors, Disco de Mayo here is all about ’80s costumes and dance-offs coupled with tacos and tequila.
No. 5 Emerald Hill
A stalwart of the Emerald Hill bars, this bar will be hosting a party May 2 with lots of one-for-one margaritas, Mexican monster drinks and Mexican tunes.
Singapore Pub Crawl
If staying in one bar seems a bit boring, this pub crawl is your best option. You’ll be working your way through three Latin-themed bars along the river, where you’ll get free shots and drink specials. Don’t forget the sombrero.
