Indie pop outfit Foster The People returns to Singapore next year

You’ve probably heard them for their controversial breakout single, “Pumped Up Kicks”, or caught them when they performed here at Fort Canning Park in 2012. But five years and two records later, Foster The People are back for another headlining gig on Jan 30 next year, this time at Zepp @ BigBox Singapore.

That one track that helped shoot the now four-piece band into the limelight earned them a Billboard Music Award for Top Rock Song, as well as nods for Grammy, BRIT, NME and Teen Choice awards. In fact, it was touted as the anthem for 2011. Along with other big hits like “Don’t Stop (Color On The Walls)”, “Houdini” and “Helena Beat”, their debut record Torches went on to sell nearly two nearly two million copies and over ten million singles worldwide.

While their sophomore album Supermodel focused on themes of negativity towards pop culture and consumer ideology, their latest release takes a slightly different turn in terms of sound, drawing influences from ‘80s style R&B, EDM and dance genres infused with their signature pop sound.

Early bird tickets are priced at $138-158 (regular prices are $148-$168) via Sistic from Oct 20.
