Rally the troops and get ready for some non-stop whisky action on Nov 25-26 as Southeast Asia’s largest whisky and spirits show, Whisky Live Singapore 2017, returns to the city for its eighth edition.
Moving away from its lofty venue at Capella Hotel Singapore in Sentosa, this year, the festival has promised to be way more engaging and expansive than before. It’ll be moving to the site of Theatreworks, inside a gazetted pre-war heritage building that was home to a rice warehouse on Mohamed Sultan Road back in the day when the area was a crucial trading and warehouse hub that stored imported goods.
Also new this year is a gallery that’ll showcase various forms of whisky and spirit art (think label artwork, marketing collaterals and the actual bottle craft) that have come and gone over the years, as well as a special cocktail and food trail on the bank of Robertson Quay. This year’s showcase will see about 150 expressions of whiskies and spirits from more than 50 brands (just a little under half of last year’s) for you to try.
While they’re still ironing out details for the most part, we should expect the same kind of tastings, workshops and masterclasses as before, as well as the possible return of the Collector Room, where you can have a taste of some super rare, very old vintage and sought-after bottles of whisky from around the world.
Tickets are $79 for a super early bird Discover Pass (U.P. $99), $159 for a super early bird VIP Pass for one day (U.P. $189) and $25 for each masterclass. More info here.
