WATCH: Fighter-jet racing and more at this new interactive aerospace exhibition

Money down that the last time you visited the Science Centre Singapore, it was on a field trip with your primary school (and that it ended with lunch at McDonald’s). Frankly, it’s a shame that our country’s only dedicated science museum seems to have been marketed as something purely for kids. Their newest exhibition, however, is the furthest from being curated for the ages of 12 and under.

Making its first Southeast Asia stop in Singapore, Above and Beyond is a collaboration between Boeing, NASA and the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. Boeing provides the model aircrafts, and NASA lends its content and innovation. After premiering at the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C., the traveling exhibition has brought its cutting-edge aviation concepts here, just in time for the Science Centre’s 70th anniversary.

Within the 5000 sq ft space, five interactive galleries allow visitors to learn about the history and mechanics of aerospace and flight—using technologies that accurately reflect what Boeing is doing with their aircrafts in real life, according to Ralph Boyce, Boeing’s Southeast Asia President.

While the exhibits themselves seem largely catered to a younger demographic, the concepts behind them veer heavily on the technical side. From now till Apr 8, 2018, STEM (or Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) enthusiasts can geek out at no added cost in the exhibition. Just enter with your regular Science Centre admission ticket.
