You can go on a Hawker Wine Safari next month

What’s better than an evening of pairing hawker food with boutique wines from Australia? Doing it on an “Anthony Bourdain style adventure”, of course. That’s the plan for Merchants Wine Store’s first Hawker Wine Safari happening on May 5.

Hosted by the Merchants team and Kris Wealand, winemaker at Margaret River’s KarriBindi, the event kicks off at 6:30pm with some bubbly at the Merchants outlet in Joo Chiat. Guests will then be taken to a secret location to pair local hawker favorites with wines like KarriBindi’s award-winning Cabernet Merlot and their Semillon Sauvignon Blanc. which received 93 points from Australia’s top wine critic, James Halliday.

Tickets are priced at $88 per person and can be purchased on the Merchants website.
