Kato Art Duo launches Avant-Garde Japan II: An art retrospective of post-war Japan, the second in their Japanese exhibition series. Art lovers can look forward to original abstract artworks by three leading Japanese artists, Usami Kuninori, Masaaki Yamada and Chiyu Uemae. Uemae’s works highlight Gutai which translates to “concreteness” and reflects the artists desire to push outside the traditional confines of painting, while Yamada’s abstract works are based on post-war Japan and are displayed chronologically from the 1950s to the 1960s.
