First began in November 2018 as Singapore’s first online hanky store, Hanky Buddies was born out of a desire to reduce tissue paper usage, encouraging us all to use reusable hankies instead—unless you’re chope-ing seats, of course.
With the Covid-19 pandemic raging on, the homegrown label has now launched a new line of reusable face masks, this time, encouraging us all to reduce usage of disposable masks whenever possible.
“As we are finding ways to keep ourselves safe during this time, let’s be reminded of how the pandemic is impacting our environment too,” says Loo Limay, co-owner of Hanky Buddies.
“From disposable face masks to takeaway meal boxes, we are generating paper and plastic waste at a much faster rate than ever before! We want to encourage our buddies to find ways to reduce, reuse and recycle, as much as possible.”
The 100% cotton, machine-washable masks they offer are the type that comes with a filter pocket, allowing you to insert a PM2.5 filter in. Each mask, priced at $14.95, comes with one complimentary filter.
There are four mask designs to choose from, including popular prints from their past hanky collections. The mask straps are also adjustable around the ears, to facilitate greater comfort.
