If you’ve ever found yourself only needing 10g of walnuts but had to get a whole 200g pack just ‘cause that’s the smallest size it comes in, this soon-to-open bulk foods retailer is here to make your life easier.
Opening Jul 27 at Cluny Court is The Source Bulk Foods, the first Singapore outpost of the Australian brand with more than 50 stores worldwide and counting. Sustainability and zero waste is the ethos here. Over 350 products will be offered, all available in bulk bins for you to scoop out from. Simply take only the amount you need, to be filled into your own jar or container. Glass jars are available for purchase if you didn’t bring one.
There are no plastic bags, no fancy packaging (that gets thrown away anyway), and definitely no overbuying. So what you’re paying for is almost wholly the price of the produce you’re getting and nothing more.
Other than pantry staples like lentils, nuts and seeds (with gluten-free and vegan options available, naturally), you’ll also find nourishing snacks and pre-mix items. The Dried Australian Mango Cheeks and Dark Chocolate Freeze Dried Strawberries are delicious munchables, while the Coconut Curry Lentil Soup Mix is a meal ready to go—just add water (and coconut milk/milk if you’d like) and cook. Plus, you’ll find refreshing, locally-brewed kombucha on tap too, for a drink that’s good for your gut.
The Source Bulk Foods is also about sustainable living, not just eating. So stock up on your stainless steel lunch boxes and coffee cups, handmade soap and shampoo bars, and your calico bags while you’re doing your wholesome grocery shopping here.
