6 express spa treatments for an emergency relaxation session

Desperately in need for a relaxing rubdown but don’t have enough hours in the day? Express treatments are the way to go. Here are six of our favorite spots.

Natureland

Centrally located at Robertson Quay, Natureland does a 30-minute 4-in-1 therapy perfect for an emergency relaxation session. It covers your head, shoulder, neck and hands and costs $38. You can choose to have it done on a chair or lying down. Plus, there are no oils involved so you can dive back into your day without needing a shower.

Kenko

There are some great short-time options here. A good choice is their 10-minute shoulder massage ($15) where the therapists use the acupressure techniques to unknot and improve blood circulation around your body. Or you get the  20-minute ($38) head massage that targets the temples, neck and shoulders.

The Spa Artisan

Forget that double shot Americano and opt for this 60-minute Knead and Snooze session instead. The treatment starts off with a 30-minute anti-stress back massage, followed by a 20-minute power snooze (while being surrounded by relaxing lavender aromatherapy and ionized air to help you fully relax, of course) and then finishes off with a 10-minute scalp massage and light face mist. This treatment is available Mon-Fri from 10am to 3pm and sets you back $68.

Damai Spa

This luxurious spa offers a couple of 40-minute treatments. There’s the scalp to shoulder massage that uses hot stones to warm up and release muscle tension and then there’s the soothing neck to back massage that targets your problem areas and eases aches. Or, if you’re just desperately in need for some shut-eye, their nap program involves a 15-minute sleep inducing massage and followed by 25 minutes of sleep. All of these treatments cost $75.

Nimble and Knead

This Tiong Bahru hotspot forgoes the usual Zen look for a raw, industrial aesthetic, replete with steel container walls, raw wooden boxes and concrete floors. It might not look like your typical spa but don’t write them off just yet. It’s worth trying their 45-minute ($64) back to back massage that’s basically a Balinese style massage that covers your shoulder, neck and legs.

St Gregory Spa

The fifth home of this award-winning hotel spa chain is at Pan Pacific Orchard and it’s an earthy and tranquil space inspired by the ocean. Though it’s small, the spa boasts an extensive spa menu of over 40 treatments. As far as express treatments go, try the 20-minute Thai Herbal Compress ($60) that uses herbs to ease muscle soreness. If you’ve got more time to spare, try the 60-minute shiatsu massage ($140) that’s great for stress-related tension, insomnia and back pain.
