You Raise Me Up
If you’re looking for a facial that effectively boosts radiance (or at least stops the mid-week slump from showing on your face), St Gregory Spa’s Elemis Modern Skin Facial ($160 for 75 minutes) should do the trick. The folks at St Gregory (4/F PARKROYAL on Beach Road, 7500 Beach Rd., 6505-5755) certainly know what they’re doing, and the products take some beating: The Elemis Visible Brilliance ($148), a double-action serum that brightens and relieves stressed skin, as well as the Elemis Pro-Radiance Cream Cleanser ($99), a moisturizing, anti-ageing cleanser. Besides restoring the skin’s pH balance, the products are also beautifully fragrant (sweet Brazilian orange and patchouli, anyone?). After one too many rotten-smelling seaweed masks elsewhere, this was nothing short of divine.
Going Gaga
This season continues to see avant-garde hairpieces, vivid blondes and anti-gravity blow-dry treatments walking down the runway and Salon Vim by Chez Vous’s (#04-07/08/08, 313@somerset, 313 Orchard Rd., 6884-7757) successful showing earlier this month reiterated this further with a showcase of Lady Gaga’s trademark styles. The purples and reds in the models’ outfits blew a breath of fresh air into what could have been a dated emulation of the popular “Button” and “Fluffy” looks.
A Hard Place
Want to turn into a charged-up, priapic monster in a week? Mr. Rock Essential Oil for Men Virility ($58.90 for up to 80 applications) could be your solution, especially if you’re the sort to shy away from prescribed medication. We were sent some in the mail (honest!) and we’ve got to say the pungency was beyond tolerable. In fact, we liken it to the smell of three-week-old stains on the sheets and reckon only those who suffer from Ozolagnia (arousal involving odors) will want to give this a shot.
