Cheap outdoor yoga classes are a thing this month in Singapore

In the spirit of community, these three yoga events are offering classes minus the hefty registration costs. From a free session at Little India to practicising for charity, here are the highlights.

Free Yoga in Little India (May 8)

Join residents of Little India and the precinct’s migrant workers in this free outdoor yoga event at Hindoo Road from 7:45-9:30am. Lead by Nithiya N. of pop-up food series Brunch Bandits, this new yoga series will end with a vegetarian breakfast. If you’d like to contribute to this social initiative, you can help by sponsoring vegetarian meals, water or coconut water. Participants are advised to wear loose and comfortable clothing, and also bring their own mats. Registration here

Pay As You Please Yoga Class (May 8)

Like its name suggest, there is no stipulated fee at this indoor yoga session held in Anahata Yoga, located at a back alley of Arab Street. There are two classes happening on the same day—the first is a 50-min Hatha Vinyasa session (10am) focusing on the core, followed by a second 50-min flow class (11:05am). All proceeds will go to charity.

Pop Up Yoga: Fort Canning Park (May 21)

This community initiative is all about stretching and mingling with fellow free spirits in the great outdoors. The classes are focus mainly on Hatha Yoga, and participants will have to bring their own mat and bottled water. Each class costs $5 and registration is required.
