Training for Warriors: Get a body like the hot Spartans in the movie 300

Not a fan of the shiny, same-same mega gyms? New indie gym Grit is opening this month, and it’s a no-frills (read: super hardcore) establishment helmed by Mixed Martial Artists and TFW certified trainers Gene Leong and Allan Ng.

Grit is the only gym in Singapore that subscribes to the Training for Warriors (TFW) system, a physical and mental training program that was originally created for MMA fighters more than 10 years ago. Sounds tough, but pro athletes and weekend warriors alike can benefit from this regimen, which comprises of detailed warmups, speed, strength and endurance training, and flexiblility work (just grit your teeth and bear it, we say). To top it all off, there’ll be—gulp—an ongoing evaluation and feedback system to monitor your progress.
