No doubt, National Day won’t be the same this year—and it hasn’t been for a while. But that’s okay, because what’s important is that we have a day to wind down, rest, and spend quality time with our loved ones. And if you’re up for it, why not head to Singapore Sports Hub? The sports and entertainment venue is simply packed with a slew of activities for friends and families to get together and have fun.
For starters, you and your loved ones can embark on a virtual GPS hunt around Kallang Wave Mall and National Stadium from as early as Aug 6. At the hunt, participants will face several virtual quizzes and games—10 in total—which will put them in the running to redeem a goodie bag worth $56.
If sweating it out with a good workout routine is what you prefer, then just join the sports hub’s exercise sessions, Workout Lah!, on Aug 8. There, all are welcome to enter either a cardio dance class that grooves to the latest beats with a Singaporean twist; or a “dance-saber” session which integrates Star Wars action sequences and Singapore National Day songs into a unique workout regimen.
As for those who would enjoy spending a day in a less sweaty and more peaceful environment, the centre’s Singapore Sports Museum will be your best bet. Across several interactive and static exhibits, attendees will be exposed to the nation’s past sporting glory, aspirations and more. While you’re there, head to the Hear Kallang Roar exhibition to relive the said moment through old photographs and memorabilias. You wouldn’t want to miss it—the exhibition is quite a spectacle.
