Laugh till your sides ache at this live online comedy show

All the stages in the city may be empty right now due to the circuit breaker measures, but that isn’t stopping an intrepid bunch of Singaporean entertainers from performing right in their own homes for your much-needed comedic relief.

Five well-known local stand-up comedians—Sam See, Jinx Yeo, Jacky Ng, Prem John and Siraj Aziz—will be banding together to bring you Singapore Stands Up! An Online Comedy Show on May 8, a production brought to life by Discover by Circles.Life.

Unlike most live shows right now, this is a ticketed one, meaning you’re gonna get original, up-to-date content streaming out of these people’s mouths. Comedians being the non-politically correct folks they are, we reckon Covid-19 jokes to be fair game. It’s about time to be able to poke fun at, while still being able to take the pandemic seriously, don’t you think?

To catch the show, simply get a ticket ($10.90) via Eventbrite. A Zoom link will then be emailed to you and the show commences come 8pm on Friday. Only 500 viewers are allowed at a time, so get your tickets while you can.

The best part (we think) is that you’ll be able to eat and drink anything you want while catching this rambunctious bunch from home.

Singapore Stands Up! An Online Comedy Show live streams on May 8, 8-9.30pm via Zoom. Tickets cost $10.90.
