After two amazing runs of The Great Food Festival the past two years, which saw highly-acclaimed restaurants at Resorts World Sentosa band together for a multi-day culinary blowout of epic proportions, another great RWS festival is coming our way.
A more elevated, celebration of fine wine is the new The Great Wine & Dine Festival, set to happen Oct 10-12 this year at the Resorts World Convention Centre. The ticketed event will be the grounds for plenty of imbibing, with the world’s most prominent wine critics offering masterclasses, RWS’ top restaurants dishing out tantalising cuisine, and celebrity chefs curating luxurious wine pairing dinners.
Once you’ve had your fill and satiated your thirst, feel free to purchase choice bottles, including new product launches, of the world’s best vinos (and craft sake, apparently) for further enjoyment in the comfort of your own home. There will be more than 200 labels available.
This massive festival is happening alongside the launch of Genting Singapore’s inaugural Wine Pinnacle Awards. It is the first-ever nomination-based wine awards without restrictions on origin or need for submissions or entry fees. Voting is done by an expert, independent panel of over 80 industry professionals, led by Jeannie Cho Lee, the world’s first ethnic Asian Master of Wine.
There will be a gala dinner held for the awards ceremony, and you’re welcome to buy tickets to attend that too. It’ll take place on the first day of the event on Oct 10, at the Resorts World Ballroom.
If all goes well, what this means for us is that Southeast Asia, and especially Singapore, will become a greater epicentre for wines. We can only expect more of the good stuff to flow through as wine experts the world over descend upon our shores for the awards annually.
