With three of their bars (Jigger & Pony, Sugarhall and Gibson) already in the Asia’s 50 Best Bars list, it would seem that the founders and barmen of the Jigger & Pony Group can rest easy on their laurels. But no, they’ve been working hard on a brand spanking new concept that’s sited at a newly constructed space one the first level of Customs House (right beside Super Loco).
Caffe Fernet, a 130-seater all-day restaurant and bar, is set for a grand opening come Feb 2018 and we can’t wait to check it out. All we know for now is that the new concept will offer a cosmopolitan take on Italian fare and cocktails. Think classics like spritzers and Negronis in several nuanced variations thanks to head barman (or Bar Programme Director, as he is officially known) Aki Eguchi’s tasteful creativity.
There will be equal emphasis on both food and drinks, so think more Sugarhall, less Gibson. It is also fully leveraging its waterfront location with an open-concept layout so that guests sitting indoors can similarly enjoy much of the picturesque Marina area, just as those at the alfresco terrace area do.
