Brews for dogs, a beer run and themed party nights await at Beerfest Asia 2019

The annual gathering of beer snobs and average beer dudes (and ladies) alike is set to take place once again, and this time, with more to keep you entertained than ever.

Held at the Marina Promenade (the area beside the Singapore Flyer) from Jun 27-30, Beerfest Asia 2019 will see many firsts this 11th edition. The most promising of what’s to come are four party nights they call Ignition, where music, lasers, lighting and projection mapping collide to form an epic revelry.

Each of the four event evenings will take on different themes. Kicking things off on Thursday will be a throwback night featuring Pink Floyd tribute band Welcome to the Machine, while the next day brings about Femme Fatale Friday, where an all-female lineup awaits. Then step into the Temple of Trance on Saturday with DJs like John Fleming on deck, before ending the festival on a Canto Sunday high with Tian Di Hui and more.

Expect the return of tribute bands too, that have been a staple of Beerfest Asia. Get to see AC/DC tribute band Hell’s Belles in action, the Peep Show that pays tribute to Guns & Roses, and plenty others. There’s even an all-new Beerfest Run taking place on the first day, where runners get to pass by five drink stations as they run along a 2km route. Finishers then get a 1-litre mug that entitles them to special prices for beer top-ups.

But let’s not forget the real reason why we’re here—beers. Over 600 labels will be available at the event, including a record showcase from nine local breweries. Our favourite local brands like Brewlander and Lion City Meadery will be setting up shop, so you know where you’ll probably find us knocking back a few.

Also expect interesting new beer flavours making their way here, the likes of Mala Xiang Jiu, a Sichuan peppercorn lager by Young Master Brewery, and a tea-infused Chamomile Pilsner by Tai Wai Brewery. To top it all off, plenty of food options from brands like Ah Hua Kelong and 1925 Brewing Co await in case you get hungry.

Making sure it all ends on a high note, the last day of the event on Sunday will see the entire space turn into a pet-friendly carnival ground filled with game stalls and inflatables. Yes, that means you can bring your furkids along for once. And they don’t have to miss out on the drinking either, as local pet food experts Floof will be offering non-alcoholic beers for your doggos too. Cheers to that.

Beerfest Asia 2019 takes place Jun 27-30, various timings at Marina Promenade. Tickets $20-160 available here. Separate ticket charges for Ignition and Beerfest Run apply.
