The future is now: Your ultimate guide to ZoukOut 2018

Asia’s favourite beachfront music festival is back for its 18th edition and as always, they aren’t holding back. Themed The Interplanetary Voyage, your ride into a future of sick beats and an out-of-this-world lineup awaits come December. Here’s what to expect.

Enter the mothership

Setting the stage for this world-class lineup is a 36-metre wide and 20-metre tall stage modelled after Zouk’s main dance room. Designed by Unlimited Productions (the same guys who’ve worked on iconic festivals like Tomorrowland and Daydream), the otherworldly structure will resemble a spacecraft, complete with reflective steel panels, plasma LED screens and the all-seeing Zouk Eye, programmed to project mesmerizing graphics that’ll set the mood for the evening. Beam us up, scotty!

We have liftoff

KSHMR

This year’s headliners will take you to the moon and back and we cannot wait to get grooving on the sand to the beats of the likes of Jeffrey Sutorius, the legendary producer and artist who hails from the music capital of the Netherlands. Previously known as the front man of Trance supergroup, Dash Berlin, Jeffery has played at other massive festivals like Ultra, EDC, Storm and A State of Trance. This year, he comes to us earthlings as a solo act, and you can expect a masterful delivery of sounds electrified with fresh perspectives and ideas.

Joining the list of superstars is KSHMR, his stage name belaying his unique style of fusing EDM with Indian melodies that has left an impact on the stages of Coachella, Tomorrowland and more. His production talents – you know him for tracks like ‘Power’ and ‘Carry Me Home’ – combined with his electrifying stage presence will cumulate in a performance that will nuke you right into orbit.

Last but not least is Australia’s Timmy Trumpet, producer and live instrumentalist known for his far out ability to blend trumpet solos over his tracks. Perhaps best known for his breakout track ‘Freaks’ back in 2014, Timmy dominates the dance floors with his unique mash of jazz-infused big room, psy trance and hardstyle, earning him accolades like Australia’s #1 DJ and spots in DJ Mag’s coveted top 100 list.
