Singapore’s first rum festival is ready to rumble this October

We’ve got festivals in Singapore celebrating alcohol of all kinds with annual events like Wine Fiesta, Beerfest, Whisky Live and Gin Jubilee. And now, the rambunctious rum is about to get its own dedicated one too—about time we say.

Taking place this Oct 13 along Keong Saik Road is Rum Bellion 2019 (a name we think is a nice nod to rum’s earlier name, rumbullion), a festival done block party style and in celebration of all things associated with the delicious sugarcane spirit.

Initiated by Keong Saik joint Neon Pigeon, alongside neighbours Taki Taki, Limehouse and Bula Cafe & Bar, expect these spaces to be taken over by rum brands the likes of Diplomatico, Plantation, Sailor Jerry and more for a whole day of activities.

There will be hourly changing guest shifts (from bartenders hailing from The Sea by the Old Man, Jungle Bird, Dirty Dick, among others), rum masterclasses, food stalls, an on-site tattoo artist, a Carribbean-style carnival, plus many other things to keep you occupied.

The first 200 people to arrive will also be getting an exclusive Rum Bellion tote bag packed with merch like t-shirts and other knick knacks from the participating brands, thus making sure that it does pay to be kiasu and come early for this.

Rum Bellion 2019 happens Oct 13, from 3pm along Keong Saik Road.
