Still hungover from Sake Fest? Have your fill of craft sake at the upcoming Sake Matsuri

If you were sober enough to remember attending the sixth edition of the annual Sake Festival Singapore held back in June, it’s time you did it right by attending the upcoming Sake Matsuri Singapore 2018.

Happening Sep 29 at UE Square’s Skylight Atrium, this inaugural edition of the festival, organized by Temple Cellars and The Japan Sake and Shochu Makers Association, is set to be a haven for sake lovers. While not as massive (still, more than 200 sake labels will be available for tasting), it sets itself apart by offering craft or small-batch bottles of the good stuff that you’ve probably never tried before. Of the more than 50 breweries being represented at the festival, seven of them will be making their local debut.

There will be masterclasses and brewery spotlight sessions ($10-$30) too, held at Temple Cellars’ bottle shop found nearby, where industry personalities like sake sommelier Adrian Goh from Inter Rice Asia, and one of the few female sake sommeliers around, Misaki Hoshi from Inaba Sake Brewery, will share their knowledge and passion for the Japanese brew with you.

Definitely come thirsty, but also hungry, with food vendors the likes of Tomi Sushi setting up shop to keep you fed.

Sake Matsuri Singapore 2018 happens Sep 29, noon-6pm at Skylight Atrium, UE Square. Tickets cost $45 and is inclusive of free-flow tastings and a sake glass.
