After two amazing editions that saw oenophiles and casual wine drinkers alike slake their thirst for vino together at events and dinners all around town, the 1-Group is once again activating their many establishments to bring us a whole month of imbibing.
From Aug 1-31, Wine Lust 2019 will bring us a cacophony of events, special menus and cook-offs that give us even more reason to wine and dine. What’s especially exciting this time around is that three of their newly opened (and soon-to-open) multi-concept venues—Alkaff Mansion, Riverhouse and Outpost—will all be participating.
At Alkaff Mansion’s Txa Pintxo Bar for instance, enjoy an outdoor grill-out on Aug 25 where live stations, tasting booths and plenty of cava await. And at the super new Riverhouse at Clarke Quay, second-floor modern Chinese restaurant Mimi is throwing a six-course wine pairing dinner on Aug 2, among many other happenings, such as a Frescobaldi wine masterclass on Aug 23.
Their established venues like Summerhouse and The Garage are involved too of course, and we’re especially looking forward to Botanico’s Wine Lust Afternoon Affair on Aug 17, a highlight event where you get to taste over 70 labels from around the world. It’s essentially a wine fair, set in a lush garden compound, with live music and a small plates station completing the experience.
There’s a whole bunch of other things happening throughout the month, such as Monti offering a new item, a Negroni on tap, during their Happy Hour from 5-8pm. Or Outpost being the grounds where 1-Group’s many chefs will be doing a special private dining experience pop-up, and where you get to BYOW for no corkage.
