Over the weekend, we checked out the Vedrenne Cocktail Grand Prix at Fordham & Grand. The competition saw top mixology talent like Abby Lim (Symmetry), Alvin Au Yong (The Library), Yugnes Susela (The Tippling Club) and Steve Leong (Bitters & Love) pit their drink mixing skills against one another for top honors and attractive prizes (five passes to the Johnnie Walker Circuit Lounge, $1200 and six bottles of Vedrenne liqueur).
As we watched the competitors mix it up, we indulged in some lychee punch spiked with a good dose of Tanqueray. Judges included 28 HongKong Street’s Michael Callahan (read our interview) and the mood was communal and fun. It was a grand way to spend Sunday afternoon.
