One of Singapore’s favorite speakeasy bars, 28 Hong Kong Street, has recently introduced monthly competiton The Bartender’s Allowance. In its third round, this friendly competition for bartenders by bartenders brings together some of Singapore’s best mixologists for a round of zany drinks centering around a different theme each month.
Held every last Monday of the month, the bartending battle centers around a different theme each installment, with prizes include $280 in cash, some exquisite spirits and plain old glory. Drinks are all about “equal parts” and simplicity is key—no less than three and no more than five ingredients are allowed.
Come to support your favorite drink or bartender and see some familiar faces breaking sweat for the crown. It’s Eugene Chua’s second time, while Mark Thomas is fresh off the Diageo World Class Bartending Competition finals.
