The end of October is almost upon us, and that means Singapore’s nightspots will soon be invaded by an army of zombies, vampires, superheroes and, of course, any number of “sexy” versions of things. You’ll have no shortage of options for places to get your ghoul on, but if you’re not at Clarke Quay, you’ll be missing out. Here’s why.
The festivities go on for five days
If you’ve attended one of Clarke Quay’s previous Fountain Square Halloween parties and wished it could go on for most of a week, your wish has been granted. Clarke Quay Halloween 2018 takes place from Oct 27 to 31; that’s five days to get your fiendish fix. This year’s event has the title “Tales of the River” so expect references to urban legends and monsters linked with rivers and seas, particularly in four Instagrammable photo zones: Mermaid’s Den, Loch Ness Lake, Undead Boatmen Cavern and Monsters of the Sea. The main party takes place on Oct 27 (8pm till late) with live music from Sweatshop Jam, the annual Best Costume Contest (with the winner taking home $200 of Clarke Quay dining vouchers) and free face-painting and UV tattoos.
You can attempt to survive a zombie apocalypse
If you’re a fan of The Walking Dead, or you just think you’re ready to survive everything the brain-eating undead can throw at you, lock and load at “VR Zombie Mania”, a competitive survival shoot-out virtual reality experience. The VR Zombie Mania challenge runs throughout Clarke Quay Halloween 2018, with qualifying rounds from Oct 27 to 30 and a final showdown for the top 10 players on Oct 31 with $3,000 of prizes up for grabs. Simply spend a minimum of $20 in a same-day receipt from a valid Clarke Quay outlet (or use 200STAR$ from the CapitaStar rewards program) to join in the action. Need some practice before facing off against the zombies? Take on the cartoon monsters of Spooky Night, another VR game, for free. The fun goes on at Fountain Square from 2pm till late on Oct 27 and 28, and from 6pm till late on Oct 29 to 31.
More spooky celebrations await
Party late into the night with the Boogie Wonderland over at Zouk, happening on Oct 27, offering a delightfully devilish mix of Halloween and disco. Prizes for best-dressed patrons range from bottles of Champagne to a cruise holiday. For Halloween with a local twist, step into Pong Singapore’s House of Hell where it’s the seventh month all over again. If you’re up for a scary-good time through the week, check out other parties and promotions happening at Clarke Quay here.
