The Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix is set to take over the city for the 12th time, and that means racing fans and partygoers will soon have to pick their vantage points to get in on the action (decisions, decisions!). As the more experienced trackside troopers will know, however, one venue quite literally stands above them all—1-Altitude. Their iconic race weekend party, The Circuit, returns for its ninth edition in 2019 from Sep 20 to 22. Here’s why you should be there.
The stellar international guest DJs
The Circuit brings some of the world’s top DJing talent to Singapore year after year, and this edition is no different. Taking top billing on Saturday, Sep 21, is Sandro Silva from the Netherlands, a DJ whose big room house has garnered attention from superstars like Calvin Harris, David Guetta and Tiesto. Stepping up on race day, Sunday, Sep 22, is Portuguese DJ Sherpa Jorge, a regular at Southeast Asia’s top clubs who has a dance music festival CV that goes all the way back to 1992.
Non-stop dusk-till-dawn entertainment
Catch the race at the world’s highest alfresco bar on all three days with live screenings during 1-Altitude’s Sundown Affair while resident sunset DJ Lindo Martinez provides deep house beats. As the evening transitions to the night, you can expect resident party band One Avenue to bring their A-game, hyping up the night with top hits and prepping you for the late-night raves.
The adrenaline-pumping race-themed activities
Efficient pit stops are vital to a race win, and watching the finely tuned pit crews do their thing in a matter of seconds makes for some riveting entertainment. If you think you have what it takes to suit up and join a crew, you’ll have the opportunity to prove your mettle at The Circuit with Heineken’s Pit Stop Challenge.
The stunning views
It’s hard to imagine that there are many better views of an F1 track in any city than the panoramic vista offered by 1-Altitude. You’ll be close enough to feel the energy of the race while being at just the right distance to be able to take the whole spectacle in. Head up early (doors open at 6pm) to kick back and enjoy the sunset, and be sure to have your camera ready for the fireworks at the checkered flag.
The enticing ticket prices
You might be expecting to pay an eye-watering sum of money for all that, but passes to The Circuit start at just $68 if you get to 1-Altitude between 6pm and 9pm on each of the three days. If you’re planning on stopping by after a day at the Marina Bay Street Circuit, entry after 9pm costs $88, with the party going on till late. All passes come with one race-themed cocktail and one premium pour.
