This Orchard Road stalwart has been serving up free snacks for a long time. Aside from munching on peanuts that you can chuck on the floor, they serve up simple bar bites in the middle of happy hour, like seafood and bacon quiches, every Monday and Tuesday from 6-8pm.

Axis Bar and Lounge

Take in the grandeur of the Mandarin Oriental or look out on to Marina Bay as you sip on cocktails like the Mandarin Mojito, a twist on the classic with Absolut Mandarin vodka and ginger syrup. Everday, each cocktail gets you free tapas like cheese and ham croquetas, iberico ham and truffle sandwiches and more. 

CM-PB Contemporary Melting Pot and Bar

Perfect for night owls looking for a light bite before tucking in, this Dempsey Hill hideout serves free soup of the day before their kitchens close. Look out for the steaming bowls at around 11.30pm on Fridays and Saturdays, while it is served at 10.45pm Sundays to Thursdays.

Mogambo Bar & Restaurant

Ladies, if you find yourself stumbling through Boat Quay and don’t want to pack on the pounds by eating fast food, head to this pub that serves complimentary finger food (think calamari and chicken wings) and free flow bubbly every Saturday night for $30. 

Morton’s Steakhouse

If you don’t feel like splurging on a filet mignon at this world-famous steakhouse, opt for free steak sandwiches instead. From 5-7pm on Mondays to Saturdays, each guest receives a free filet mignon steak sandwich. This all happens during their ‘Mortini Nights’ where martinis go for $15. 

Verve Pizza Bar

During their daily 5-7pm happy hour, you get free pizza samplers to line your stomach and 20% off for draught beers and cocktails. Munch on pizzas like Corleone, which is topped with parma ham, arugula and shaved parmesan or Clemenza made with goat cheese, sweet balsamic onion chutney, beet root, red onion, basil and baby spinach. 

Zsofi Tapas Bar

Sangria lovers, this one’s for you. Each carafe (serves four glasses) you get, earns you three tapas plates while pitchers (serves eight glasses) gets you five tapas plates. They have 15 types of sangria ranging from the classic red to Copacabana, a cachaca-based creation. For those daring enough, the Holy Grail aka “The Poison” sangria is a deadly mixture of absinthe, Bacardi 151, gin, vodka, brandy, tequila, rum, bourbon, Sambuca and Cointreau will definitely get you going. Best part is that you can mix and match anything, whether you’re craving croquetas or nachos.
