9 parties to attend in Singapore in March

March is set to be a month full of happenings and festivals. And it’s no different in the nightlife scene. Here are the parties not to miss.

Maracatu Carnival Party (Mar 6)

Local artisanal cachaca brand Maracatu hosts a Brazilian carnival party at the bay. There will be tons of caipirinhas and caipifrutas (caipirinhas made with assorted fruits) and great Brazilian party music.

Kilo Lounge One Year Anniversary (Mar 6)

The popular alternative lounge near Kallang celebrates their one year anniversary with a huge bash. American DJ Chez Damier helms the decks with upbeat electronic tunes and spins alongside local DJs Brendon P and Jeck Hyde.

Future Music Festival (Mar 13-14)

The two-day festival transplants to Singapore for a line-up full of huge acts. There’s a little something for everyone with people like Fatboy Slim, Knife Party and Avicii gracing the stages.

Kenny Dope (Mar 13)

The four-time Grammy nominated DJ is no newbie, with 20 years of DJing under his belt. He plays a mash-up of house, hip hop, Latin, jazz, funk and reggae, so you’ll recognize hits like “Stay Sharp” and “Brazilica”.

Thomas Gold (Mar 14)

This guy is huge with chart-toppers like “Beast”, “Something’s Gotta Give” and “Eyes Wide Open”. Among EDM fans, he needs no introduction with his unique and energetic progressive house sound.

Claptone (Mar 14)

Aside from clap-your-hand songs, the masked German DJ spins his woozy, deep-house beats inflected with funky tunes at Velvet Underground. Plus, he’s got hits like “United” that rose to #1 on Beatport’s Deep House charts.

Vibe Beach Sports and Music Festival (Mar 21)

This one’s a bit of an interesting take on the traditional beachside festival. The day-long affair merges sports and music with areas for beach volleyball and beach soccer, as well as DJ stages hosting the likes of Miles Slater and AN21.

Future Tokyo Programme – Kyo’s 2nd Anniversary (Mar 27)

The underground club celebrates their second anniversary with a lineup of five DJs taking turns to scratch up the decks. On the list are huge local DJs like Godwin P, Shigeki, Norman C, Ramesh K and Kenneth F.

Koi Bang Street Gang (Mar 29)

The Haji Lane resto-bar holds a street party that’s an all-day boozy affair. Turn up with your friends in matching colors to get freebies and prizes.
