Gin—sometimes herbaceous, sometimes citrusy, always packed with botanicals. While you can get a solid gin-based drink at any of Singapore’s cocktail haunts, below are bars in Singapore that truly specialise in the juniper spirit, offering a wider range of gins and gin cocktails than most other places. Head on over to these joints for your gin fix.
Atlas
One of the top bars in Asia is this gin bar that needs no introduction. Atlas, otherwise known as the swanky, ‘20s-inspired bar at the Gotham building near Bugis, houses one of the world’s most diverse and comprehensive collections of gin. Ranging from 1910 London dry gins to some of the finest, modern craft gins from around the globe, it’s said that the bougie location has over 1,200 labels on hand.
beGIN
A Boat Quay gin bar offering British-Indian grub, beGIN is found above the Quay’s British pub stalwart Penny Black. The same owners converted the space into an alcove for lovers of the juniper-flavoured spirit, and dishes out both pretty and unique cocktails for drinkers to try. They’ve even got a neat Gin Flight, where you’ll get to taste four gins—Zeer Oude Bols Genever, Hayman’s Old Tom, Tanqueray London Dry and Hendrick’s—that showcases four very different styles.
Brass Lion Distillery’s Tasting Room
Up on the second floor of Singapore’s first micro-distillery is an inviting and homely bar offering gin that’s as freshly distilled as it can get in Singapore. Rest assured that you’ll only receive quality libations here, as Brass Lion is home to the first, original Singapore Dry Gin. While you’re here, go for a tour of the distillery below or sign-up for a spot at their gin school and get to take home your very own bottle of gin.
Cin Cin
At Cin Cin, a collection of well-loved and boutique gins await. Discover gin-inspired cocktails and over 500 different ways to build your own Martinis and G&T’s. Be sure to try Cin Cin’s take on the Negroni—the Earlgroni, a spirit-forward beverage that uses Bulldog Gin infused with earl grey. Or come on Saturdays for the gin buffet and try as much as you want for three hours.
Gin Parlour By The Bay
Be treated to an incredible view as you enjoy your tipples at The Fullerton Bay Hotel’s Gin Parlour By The Bay, thanks to bar’s nifty location at The Clifford Pier’s outdoor terrace. It’s pretty much an all-gin menu here, but that’s exactly what you came for. The Marina Bay views are complimentary.
The Rabbit Hole
There may be a good number of gin bars in Singapore (as seen in this list), but The Rabbit Hole is Singapore’s only gin garden bar. The watering hole offers some classic gin drinks, enhanced with unique botanicals, fresh from their garden. Plus, you can choose to enjoy some of the beverages that feature their very own House Tonic, crafted at The Rabbit Hole to provide a premium G&T experience worth your trek to Dempsey.
