February might be the month of love but there’s no reason why party plans should be on hold. Check out the list below for the most promising dance parties and DJ gigs.
Dash Berlin
Dutch trance legend Dash Berlin will be back at Zouk, fresh off landing the 15th spot in DJ Mag’s global Top 100 DJ list 2015. Dance to exhilarating party anthems alongside deep house music. Resident DJ Lincey will start us out with laidback house tunes. $45 at the door, with two free drinks
DJ Nez
It’s an all-reggae affair by DJ Nez and DJ Submerge who will be mixing it up at Circular Road’s Refuge, alongside guest acts DJ Rumshot and rapper Masia One. This tribute party will also feature a pop-up art fair on the roof featuring Rastafari-themed vinyl, crafts and merchandise for sale. Load up on hearty barbecue pub grub like the Dub Club grilled jerk chicken. Free. 7pm till late.
Cato
Chinatown’s cavernous restaurant and nightspot Cato is hosting a pre-CNY night of back-to-back sets of soulful electronic, house and future sounds by Singaporean DJs Gerald and Rob. Boogie to techno, old-school hip hop, dance and underground house music at this dance party. Supporting from the flanks is New Zealand DJ Artic Penguin who will be mixing up jazzy hip-hop sounds through the night. Free.10pm till late.

There are affordable house pours and bubble all afternoon. $10 cover, inclusive of one free drink
Alta Ego on Ann Siang Road is holding spectacle-heavy Australian DJ duo Binary Finary for a four-hour classic and hard trance set. $34-38
It’s natural to feel a bit skeptical when an event says it’s celebrating “the Burning Man Festival spirit in Singapore” but there are some cool things happening at this all-evening, all-night party at Dempsey Hill’s Tree Lounge. They’re promising indoor and outdoor performances spaces, 3D projections, a dubstep and techno-heavy DJ line-up, fire performances and an outdoor cinema. Tickets are $21.60
Postponed after the haze attack of late-2015, Tanjong Beach Club is having an all-Argentinian party with DJ Adrian Giordano spinning ’80s funk and electro-boogie, along with duo Silver City. Grab a daybed and indulge in some beachside, daytime drinking.
