Those preferring boutique Champagne labels will be glad to know that Champagne Cattier is now available in Singapore again (after exiting the market quite a few years ago), and with not just a handful, but a healthy range of eight cuvees to choose from.
You can only get them from Bottles & Bottles—they’ve got seven outlets islandwide, including their newest Jewel Changi Airport one—thanks to them having an exclusive distribution deal with the storied, family-run Champagne house. Compared to the big Champagne brands, Cattier is but a small producer, so having allotment here is a treat for local wine connoisseurs.
The most accessible Brut Icone is a steal at $58 per bottle, or $110 for a magnum. It’s fresh and fruity, and makes for easy drinking. But why not try the mid-range Brut Premier Cru ($62/bottle), that’s more complex and expressive on the nose, or the rose version, the Brut Rose Premier Cru ($73/bottle), that easily defies most people’s expectations of rose. For the indulgent, or if you’re trying to impress, get the Clos du Moulin Brut ($119/bottle) that stands out with its fuller body and buttery finish.
With prices like these attached to quality like that of Champagne Cattier, the value you get from each sip (or gulp, we don’t judge) is truly something special. Now we’re just waiting for their Armand de Brignac Champagne to make its way here too.
