Last week Asia One reported that three of Clarke Quay’s tenants recently (possibly temporarily?) closed: chill out live music bar Aquanova, Irish pub Mulligan’s and gourmet hot dog and craft beer joint HopDog. And we just got wind that Lifebrandz’s clubs Fenix Room and Playhouse have also shuttered.
But don’t despair. All is not lost. Night owls can now look forward to Irish pub chain McGettigan’s opening in the space formerly occupied by Vintry wine bar and The Royal Selangor. Expect some of the same Irish pub treatment with dark wooden bars with a more modern feel by way of plush chairs and swanky lights. Food-wise, there’s traditional fish & chips, Irish stew, as well as pub grub like chicken wings.
Also on the roster of new tenants is Motorino, a New York-style pizza joint that originated in Brooklyn. It’s no-frills and easy, but the Neapolitan-style gourmet pies look pretty darn delicious with toppings like brocolli rabe, pancetta and mozzarella. We can also expect a range of antipasti, a rotating list of seasonal pizzas, wines and beers to fuel the night.
