Just four months ago, Regent Singapore’s Manhattan climbed to the top of this year’s Asia’s 50 Best Bars list, with 12 other bars making the list. Now, the 2017 World’s 50 Best Bars list has been unveiled (Oct 5), and it sure seems like Singapore is set to become Asia’s undisputed cocktail capital, now that six of our favorite watering holes have made the cut (that’s three more from last year).
Manhattan broke into the top 10 at #7, climbing from #11 last year, while 28 HongKong Street continues to drop a staggering 11 spots from #14 to #25. Our favorite Gatsby-esque bar housed in the over-the-top Art Deco building in Bugis, Atlas, emerged as the highest new entry at #15. Tippling Club, now headed by Joe Schofield, has returned to the list at #31 after being absent from it for the past four years. Operation Dagger, which made its debut last year at #21, dropped to #24, while Native joins the ranks for the first time, placing itself at #47.
