Help Nineteen80 and Rails bar stay alive by participating in bake sales, workout classes and cocktail workshops

It’s no secret that the nightlife industry in Singapore has been badly affected by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. For more than a year now, clubs have not been able to operate in their conventional forms, instead diversifying with F&B offerings and more.

And with the recent tightening of measures, though warranted, times are tougher than ever. Now, one of our favourite nightlife collectives which owns bars including Nineteen80 and Rails will need our help to survive.

Aptly named the Staying Alive campaign, A Phat Cat Collective’s new initiative hopes to counter the past 17 turbulent months of Covid-19 regulations which have hindered business at their concepts. In addition to spotlighting the struggles faced by nightlife-driven locales, the campaign is also a crowdfunding project seeking a target of $50,000 to ease the financial losses A Phat Cat Collective has since endured.
Now happening till end-August or until dine-in resumes, the campaign essentially puts the fun in fundraising—thanks to a calendar of virtual events and food delivery promotions.

That means besides getting fried chicken sandwiches and bottled cocktails delivered to your doorstep, you can also enjoy ticketed live streams with DJs and mixology workshops.

There will also be A Phat Cat Collective’s first-ever bake sale, an ‘80s-themed workout class and even trivia nights for some super cool stay-home fun. View the full line-up of events here.

Says Joshua Pillai, Co-founder and Managing Director of A Phat Cat Collective: “It’s been a tough ride for the F&B industry and even more so for nightlife operators as many of us have had to rethink strategies just to pull through. With Staying Alive, we wanted to band together and stay alive in this game. We strongly believe that with the support and love from the public, we will be able to make it through and showcase Nineteen80 and Rails in their true glory.”

So if you’d like to see Nineteen80 and Rails back in action, then consider chipping in to their cause. We promise you’ll get your money’s worth what with all the fun you’re gonna have.
