The Korean blooded, Los Angeles born and raised Tokimonsta will be taking on deck duties at Home Club on Oct 16 thanks to local collective Syndicate. Who’s Tokimonsta you ask? She’s a Red Bull Music Academy (RBMA) participant, managed under Flying Lotus’ imprint, Brainfeeder and was invited to perform in the recent BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend; that’s who. Her sound is every bit a broken beat would allow. Infusing traditional Asian instruments to ethnic percussions, and from trip-hop synths to off-kilter basslines, eccentric in sound and cordial in taste.
