The UEFA Euro 2016 is back again, calling for the unbeatable trinity of football, friends, and beer. If you’ve been missing the action over the last four days, it’s still not too late to get into the action. Here’s where you can catch all the action and revel in the football fever alongside other fans for the next month.
Bars and Restaurants
McGettigan’s @ Clarke Quay
One of Singapore’s hottest sports bar is collaborating with sports magazine FourFourTwo Singapore to screen live matches on 18 screens, featuring live music and expert game analyses for the tacticians out there. They will also be screening replays during the day so nine-to-fivers can catch up on the action over lunch.
Harry’s Bar
Harry’s @ Boat Quay
Head over to good ol’ Harry’s at any of its outlets in Boat Quay, Clarke Quay, Claymore, and Chijmes for some pub grub and draft beer. They have also rolled out a new menu comprising solid items like Soy-Glazed Beef Cubes ($18.90), Harry’s Signature Wings ($13-19) and Slow-Braised Beef Cheeks ($26.90). Be sure to check out the locations for the screenings here before you head down.
Pint & Curries
Fancy Indian food washed down with ice cold craft beer while rooting for your team on the edge of your seat? Well, this place has got you covered. Order some tikka masala, a beer and get cozy for the long nights ahead. They will be screening all matches live, including the 3am games.
Muddy Murphy’s
Muddy Murphy’s Irish Pub
Cheer on the Boys in Green at this Irish cottage-themed pub, and while you’re glued to the on-field action on the six big screens, tuck into hearty Irish stew, and wash it all down with more cold draft beer.
The Penny Black
The Penny Black Victorian London Pub
Muddy Murphy’s sister bar is also screening the matches live, and this will most likely be where English fans will congregate. Don’t expect it to be any less lively as the cozy pub gets especially packed and riotous during live screenings of football matches. After midnight, you get to mix and match four draught beers on tap, so you could either drown your sorrows or down the victory drink with your mates.
Beer Market
The Beer Market
Drop by this stockmarket-inspired concept bar and keep your eyes on the LCD screens to make sure you don’t miss out on any of the footy action, or the fluctuating alcohol prices updated every half hour according to the law of demand-and-supply. The list of screened matches are updated here.
Brotzeit @ Raffles City
Get some authentic Bavarian Cuisine to go with your beer and football at this chic German restaurant. Their midnight special menu will definitely keep your bellies from growling so you can enjoy the game uninterrupted.
Paulaner Brauhaus
Paulaner Brauhaus
Gear up for Deutschland glory and soak up the atmosphere with refreshing ales from the tap at this German brewhouse. The German Association of Singapore will also be there this year, so if you’re standing with the national team, this is where you should be.
Marco Marco @ Circular Road
In collaboration with Sunshine Nation, this homey Italian-inspired restaurant is transforming its outdoor terrace into a public viewing space for the Paulaner Euro Cup Open Air. They’ve also whipped up a Euro special pizza menu— German, French, Italian, English, and Austrian, so if you’re supporting any of these teams, there’s no better way to show your love than with pizza.
Promenade at ORTO
Promenade @ ORTO
Instead of your typical beer-and-football-in-a-pub sesh, switch it up and watch by the live matches by the lake at this sheltered outdoor facility in the north. They’re serving a variety of European food alongside promotional Heineken towers during the screenings. You can also take photos with their UEFA Euro trophy replica and a lucky winner will get to bring it home after the finals in July.
Free public screenings
Singapore Changi Airport
For those in transit, you don’t have to miss out on all the action. Changi Airport is holding live screenings of the matches across all three terminals near Harry’s, Texas Chicken, Costa Coffee, and the Xperience Zone. There may also be surprise giveaways, so keep an eye out for them.
Community Centers
Your neighbors won’t be complaining about the ruckus you’re creating at 3am anymore because you won’t be at home. Over 30 community centers island-wide will be screening the matches live, so you can grab some snacks and cheer (or jeer, whichever team you’re on) alongside other residents, and even make new football kakis. Check out the latest update on the list of CCs and their contact details here.
SAFRA Clubhouses
Put that membership card to good use and enjoy live screenings at islandwide SAFRA clubs such as Mount Faber, Jurong, Tampines and Yishun Country Club. Each club is offering their own Euro promotions, so check out the site for more updates.
