Booze bulletin: Mars Bar’s future plans and more venues to find your favorite drinks

For fans of Singaporean tipples like the now-famous chili crab cocktail, fret not. Although Mars Bar‘s future may not be the most certain, it seems like they’ll be staying at their current premises in The Duxton hotel until June. You can also look forward to their new concept Hopscotch, slated to open in October at the Red Dot Design Museum. This beer and whisky pop-up bar is modelled after a local childhood favorite, the hopscotch game, and will be helmed by some familiar faces.

Over at the famous Smith Street hawker, cocktails aren’t the only thing in fashion—they’re getting a new sudsy tenant (that isn’t Smith Street Taps). Get ready for a freshly-brewed craft beer stall with golden ales, red ales, roasty stouts and summer wheats on draft.

The Market Grill also gets in on the action with a Moritz beer pop-up bar starting Friday, Aug 15. The Barcelona brew is known for its easy-drinking pilsners and lagers that complement the smoky flavors of the restaurant’s meat and seafood menu.

In other bubbly news, Bacchanalia rolls out their eighth workshop-tasting session, this time with a focus on everything to do with Champagne and sparkling wine. The Educated Imbiber allows diners to sample a variety of bubblies and discern the differences while enjoying an experimental six-plate dinner.
