The Penny Black’s new gastro grub a winner

After years of well-loved British bar grub, The Penny Black has shaken things up and launched a gastropub menu. Order up a Toad in the Hole ($19)—English Harris and herb sausages baked in a Yorkshire pudding, laced with thick onion gravy or Chicken Parmo ($16)—breaded and pan fried chicken breast smothered with melted cheddar and parmesan cheese, served with truffle fries. They also do a Potted Scampi ($16), fresh crayfish swimming in a creamy ocean of lemon butter sauce.
