North Canal Road Latin eatery SUR Nuevo Latino Kitchen is now closed due to alleged fraud.
The announcement came on October 4, when a message was posted on the restaurant Facebook page: “Dear fans, Sur restaurant is closed forever due to fraud from the company director. Thank you for all your support during all the months of operations.” A similar notice is up on the restaurant website.
Executive chef Vitelio Reyes is now in search of a new restaurant. In a Facebook post, Reyes said, “Don´t worry I would be around soon, trying to provided satisfaction to all our customers!”
SUR Nuevo Latino Kitchen opened in December 2012 and was a popular spot for authentic South American fare.
