El Patio Mexican Restaurant

For a relaxed and casual Mexican dining experience that will leave you craving for more long after you’ve undone your belt and can’t possibly fit another thing in, head straight to El Patio. Its vibe is best on the weekends, when the street is really thriving and the bars across the way are full of sports-loving expats and locals. (Don’t miss out on the fun—grab a table outside to be closer to the action.) All of which adds to the restaurant’s ambiance, which is unpretentious and unassuming.

Drink the tasty margaritas, which are some of the best in town, in salt-rimmed jam jars, before the homely, delectable and extremely filling food arrives. Expect Tex-Mex staples like enchiladas, burritos and quesadillas. If you have room for dessert, check out their apple sopaipillas (Mexican fritters with vanilla ice cream).

But the absolute glory here are the fajitas. They come with various meats, but we’d recommend the prawn or the lamb, both of which are tender, succulent and divine. You’ll definitely be ordering extra tortillas to mop up every morsel off your sizzling platters. There are other menu items to be considered, but we say, why go past a winner?
