Pop Mart, a global leader in designer toy collectibles, has opened its largest store in Singapore at Ion Orchard – and what a playground it is. The store spans an impressive 262 square metres, and offers more than just a retail experience. It aims to be “a celebration of creativity and fun, designed to be a must-visit destination for Pop Mart enthusiasts from all over the world.” There are already 450 retail stores globally in more than 23 countries, and this newest branch is the 10th in Singapore.
Customers will find an extensive range of pop culture-related toys, collectibles, merchandise, and Blind Boxes (sealed packaging that keeps the contents a mystery to its new owners). Besides world renowned brands such as Disney, Sanrio, Warner Bros, among others, there are products by famous designers as well as local and budding artists whose unique characters have won the hearts of many fans. We guarantee you’ll find something you like, be it an adorable Crybaby or Molly figure, a Disney Princess or a character from Game of Thrones.
There is even a Pop Bean mini figurine section where you can scoop up your favorites, kind of like choosing sweets in a candy shop except they are inedible (as reminded by the multiple signs plastered around this area). All you need to do is buy an empty jar and fill it up with as many figurines as possible within three minutes.
Fans can explore three special photo-opportunity areas: the Skullpanda Trust life-sized sculpture, the Dimoo-on-the-Go area, and a Built-in Photo Booth with popular Pop Mart series that changes according to new product launches.
If these are not enough, there is the upcoming Pop Toy Show (PTS) Singapore. The event will take place at Sands Expo and Convention Centre from Aug 23 to 25, and will showcase over 50 different artists, toy designers, and international toy brands throughout the three-day event.
