Local gallery Lumas Singapore has teamed up with NGO The Skateroom to present an exhibition pop culture fans can only dream of. It’s pop art meets street culture, in a selection of unique skate decks designed using images from legends Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat. Whether you’re a skateboarder or not, the limited-edition skate decks are true collector’s items.
Warhol needs no introduction, but his famed reputation for straddling high and popular culture makes him the perfect artist to feature on these skate decks. And no less celebrated, American artist Jean-Michel Basquiat rose to fame for his graphic and political graffiti work; expect to see elements of jazz and modern pop culture on his decks.

Running from Feb 8-20, the exhibition is small but sweet; and for a good cause. Based in Belgium, The Skateroom collaborates with renowned artists to release limited-edition skate decks that go on sale after exhibition. The profits help finance social projects selected by the artists; 10% goes directly towards benefitting youth in South Africa, Afghanistan and Cambodia. Admission is free, so swing (or skate) by for a visit.
Lumas x The Skateroom runs from Feb 8-20 at Lumas Gallery, Paragon Shopping Mall, #04-47. More information here.
