CONCERT
African husband-and-wife duo Amadou & Mariam are practically musical legends in their Native Mali; after performing for more than 40 years, they’ll be making their one-night-only Singapore debut at the Capitol Theatre. Both blind from a young age, the couple is widely celebrated for their Afro-pop sound infused with traditional Malian music, African instrumentation, Afro-blues, and ‘80s pop. It’s African music like you’ve never heard before. Nov 12

Mean Girls Day (ie. October 3rd) might be over, but there’s always reason to rewatch the iconic chick flick. Head down to Bar Canary for a screening of Mean Girls and a special Ladies Night promotion; the limit (to your alcohol consumption) does not exist. Nov 12

In an unprecedented move, three-Michelin-starred chef Masaki Miyakawa and his elite kitchen team from Niseko’s Sushi Shin will be in Singapore at Nami for a two-week pop-up, presenting crafted sushi set menus that are bound to be mind blowing. American rapper and producer Oddisee has performed with the likes of The Roots, Jazzy Jeff, and De La Soul; his musical style blends hip-hop and influences from his parents’ heritages (Sundanese and African American). After being murdered earlier this year in Shakespeare in the Park’s Julius Caesar, Jo Kukathas will see more blood at the Singapore premiere of Guards At The Taj, staged by the Singapore Repertory Theatre. The award-winning play by American dramatist Rajiv Joseph is a dark comedy revolving around a myth behind the Taj Mahal’s legendary construction—one that may or may not diminish its rep as a Seventh Wonder of the World. The Great Christmas Village 2017
FESTIVAL
The massive Christmas Village at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza is back for the second time, and this year, they’re running it for longer. Over 42 days, there’ll be plenty to do, eat and drink thanks to a collab with Timbre. The homegrown F&B and music group will be in charge of the Food Village, where food kiosks by the likes of New Ubin Seafood and Two Wings will be set up. There’ll also be a Craft Beer Bar and performances from Timbre’s musicians too, naturally. Take a ride on the beautiful duplex carousel before you head home. Nov 15-Dec 26
DANCE
Come celebrate the 10th year anniversary of local dance troupe T.H.E Dance Company at their annual dance showcase: Under the subsidiary T.H.E Second Company, liTHE 2018 will feature 12 dancers and choreography by local choreographers Anthea Seah, Goh Shou Yi and Marcus Foo from their three-year incubation programme. Rounding out the 2018 season for The Second Breakfast Company is The Old Woman & the Ox, written by 20-year-old playwright Isaiah Lee.
