For music lovers, that means a trip to Clarke Quay is in order for Music Matters Live. Now in its 14th year (9th in Singapore), Music Matters Live is a showcase of up-and-coming performers from all around the world—and best of all, admission is free. The numbers speak for themselves. Music Matters Live 2019 will see 50 emerging artists from 15 countries perform in more than 100 free shows over six nights. This year’s line-up has a focus on female and female-fronted acts including Japanese J-idol group DEAR KISS and Israeli singer-songwriter Totemo. Some of the other artists to get acquainted with: Estonian electro outfit I Wear* Experiment, Taiwanese indie rockers Amazing Show and Australian hip-hop artist Billy Davis and his band The Good Lords.

Day 2 of Music Matters Live 2019 (Sep 14) will be particularly noteworthy—that’s when the annual Made In Singapore showcase takes place on the main stage at Clarke Quay’s Fountain Square. Presented by iconic fashion house Hugo Boss and local record label Zendyll Records, the biggest ever Made In Singapore will feature acts on the rise along with Music Matters Live Alumni who’ve already become headliners.
