Culture Cartel goes digital for its 2020 edition with virtual booths, online raffle and more

Ahhh, Culture Cartel. It first started in 2018 as a celebration of Asia’s street culture by gathering over 100 street artists, designers, tattooists and urban brands together to form a massive convention. Then in 2019, the event grew even bigger, still held at the same place as the inaugural edition, at the F1 Pit Building.

This year however, things have changed. Like many events that have gone ahead in 2020, Culture Cartel is going virtual. Come Dec 5, instead of heading out, log onto digital.culturecartel.com, where they will be bringing various subcultures together in a digital space.

This third edition will see masterclasses, performances and talks all happen online from 1pm till midnight, making it the longest live virtual street culture event to take place in Singapore.

The marketplace too, arguably the most hotly anticipated portion of the event, is heading online. This time, it’s a virtual marketplace, allowing buyers and sellers to interact meaningfully yet safely via custom-designed interactive digital booths.

These booths hope to reenact the vibe of the convention, and will be adorned with visuals and videos of participating brands, showcasing product launches, exclusive highlights as well as 3D products and offer gamification features.

While the event is free for all to attend (you still have to register your attendance though), lend your support to the organisers by purchasing raffle tickets at $2 each via Klook. Ticket holders get to take part in weekly draws every Friday starting Oct 16 till Dec 4. On the actual event date, the final draw will then take place.

Stay tuned to Culture Cartel’s social media platforms to find out if you’ve won. Prizes such as customized sneakers, skateboards, shopping vouchers and exclusive merch await.
