In December, be a conscious consumer at this month-long sustainability lifestyle festival

It’s the year-end holiday period, and mass consumerism is at its peak. While indulging in some festive shopping is no cardinal sin, why not do so more consciously at this upcoming plastic-free, sustainability-focused event that seeks to enrich your life at the same time.

Held for a whole month from Dec 1-31, Loop is the first event of its kind here. Taking place at Esplanade Park, inside the multi-storey community space The Incubator, expect it to be a gathering of over 100 local craft makers, food and beverage vendors, as well as many other eco-friendly beauty and household brands that all share one common vision – championing sustainability awareness.

Besides getting your environmentally-conscious retail therapy fix, there’s plenty else happening over the five weekends of the month. Everyone’s favourite woodworker Roger&Sons will be conducting a make-your-own-chopsticks workshop, Ground Up Initiative in collab with Kampung Play will be showcasing unique handcrafted games, and there’ll be a farmers market with live cooking stations set-up by event organisers Loop. Want to learn more about appreciating coffee or wine? Hook Coffee and Peng Wine will be holding workshops too.

For those who just want to relax, movie booking app Popcorn will be offering weekly movie screenings of films in line with the event’s theme, while every Saturday from 5.30pm is the time to enjoy free sunset yoga sessions on Esplanade Park grounds.

Be sure to bring your own bags to carry your purchases, and your own mugs even, for pours of coffee going for a dollar if you do so. And for those who still haven’t caught on the metal straw craze, not to worry. Posting something on your socials with #loopsg will net you one, so you never need to request for plastic straws ever again.
