A new virtual reality theme park is opening in Singapore

Although our island boasts some pretty impressive VR offerings, with China’s largest VR theme park opening earlier this year in Guizhou, we are still slightly late to the game. But hey, better late than never.

Come Nov 17, we can all have our Ready Player One moment here with Singapore’s first ever full-scale VR theme park, HeadRock VR, setting up shop at Resorts World Sentosa, revitalizing the resort island with its suite of 11 exciting experiences. Using a mix of state-of-the-art VR technology and interactive elements, expect to go on rides that are no longer limited by contraption or gear.

Each ride offers a different theme. Full-fledged adrenaline junkies can have their spine tingled by plunging into the depths of hell—or more accurately, molten lava—from a jaw-dropping height of over 1000m on the Flying Dive ride. If you’re more of an extreme sports person, navigate through overflowing river rapids on Jungle Rafting, supposedly a crowd favourite, that won’t require you to have a change of clothes. Or experience a blistering snow storm with the Storm Blizzard installaton—a world’s first of its kind—that will see its debut in tropical Singapore. No winter, no problem.

Whether you’re here for novelty, to escape reality, or just someone who enjoys the adrenaline rush without actually doing the real thing, HeadRock VR is likely the ultimate place to get your fix.

HeadRock VR opens Nov 17, daily 10am-8pm at Resorts World Sentosa, #01-38/39. Tickets available here are priced at $65 (for 7 rides), $50 (for 5 rides) and $35 (for 3 rides). Early birds visiting the theme park from Nov 17-Dec 16 gets 15% off.
