Four years after their debut concert here at *SCAPE, Irish rock outfit Kodaline will grace our shores once again. The UK Platinum-selling, Dublin-based rockers will perform a one-night only show on Mar 5, 2019 at ZEPP@BIGBOX, as part of their upcoming world tour promoting their most recent album, Politics of Living, released Sep this year.
Back in 2015, Kodaline was easily Ireland’s most popular rock band, with chart-topping singles like “All I Want”, “High Hopes”, and “Love Like This” from their debut album In a Perfect World (2013); as well as hits “The One” and “Honest” fresh off their second, Coming Up for Air (2015). The debut album went platinum twice in Ireland and sold over a million copies worldwide, cementing the newcomer as a band to watch. Since then, the modern rock quartet (today comprising singer Steve Garrigan, guitarist Mark Prendergast, drummer Vinny May and bassist Jason Boland) has had its soulful music featured in several TV shows and film soundtracks, such as Modern Family, Grey’s Anatomy, and The Fault in Our Stars.
Politics of Living is the band’s first collection of music since 2015—and the wait has been well worth it. Kodaline teamed up with a host of celebrity producers and collaborators for an album of big choruses, digital rhythms, synths and glimmering piano riffs. Expect to hear their latest singles “Head Held High”, “All For Love” and “Follow Your Fire” (currently at 20 million Spotify streams) on tour. Early-bird tickets go on sale Nov 16 at 9am here.
